LAHIVE
Every piece in the LAHIVE collection is designed in Los Angeles and made in Los Angeles. We are proud to be a part of the local industry and support the workers that help make our company possible. We consider our network of pattern-makers, cutters, sewers, suppliers, and factories as friends, and we make sure to only work with those who provide fair working conditions and wages for their employees.
High-quality materials, construction and sustainability are our top priorities. We’re constantly working to ethically source luxury fabrications and details that look great and feel great against your skin.
The majority of our collections are sourced from deadstock, the remaining fabric from major houses that would otherwise end up in landfills. This process is referred to as upcycling. We are committed to reusing materials (even from our own past seasons) to continue to be a part of the solution and not add to the problem.
Our packaging is also important to us. We know that an amazing thick and branded box is so fun to open, however, it’s also very harmful to our environment. We feel that what’s inside the package is where the fun is revealed. We are committed to shipping to you in our cornstarch biodegradable, simple bags from Ecoenclose. Yes, this means when we know that your gown will fit without wrinkle or damage, it’s arriving to you in a cornstarch bag. We use recycled boxes only when completely necessary.
We have also implemented “the Green Shop” to our site. This allows you to shop the last pieces at very discounted prices. We are determined to sell every piece and not have it thrown away in landfills.
Our environment is important to us. We want you to feel amazing inside and out so we thank you for shopping sustainably.
Lizzy Lahive created her namesake collection in honor of the many strong women in her life. As an FIT graduate, she worked in major design houses in NY before life took her to LA. Lizzy found that after she had kids, she wasn’t putting the time into making herself look and feel good. She wanted to ignite that sexy, confident, woman inside of her again, and so she started designing and making clothes for herself.
As friends and acquaintances started making requests for her pieces, she began creating her own label to help light that same fire within all the women in her life. Lizzy launched that first LAHIVE capsule collection in Fall 2017 and hasn’t looked back since.
